Who she is

Alice Duncan-Abushalback (She/Her) grew up in a suburban town just outside of Plainfield, Illinois, studying classical ballet at schools such as Plainfield Dance Academy and Ballet 5:8. She occasionally competed in statewide competitions, the main being the Youth American Grand Prix, but mostly stuck to local performances: The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, etc. Upon graduating and going off to college, Alice was introduced to a multitude of techniques and dance styles: street dance, modern (Graham, Horton, O’Donnel, Nikolais), cultural dances. She fell in love with the art form as a whole then, and has since sought out to learn as much about it as possible, transforming herself into an avid learner.

Alice is an artist who wears her heart and soul on her sleeve, unafraid to be colorful and true to herself. She has an amicable personality, and works well with others in a team setting; but can also assume positions of leadership without dictating or intruding. She’s well-versed in dance styles and techniques, skilled in most areas. However, what makes her captivating are not her lines or movement, it’s her passion for the arts — especially for dance.
